Although there are still several months of the Modern Warfare 2 cycle remaining, attention is already turning towards the next instalment in the Call of Duty franchise.
Information on 2023’s release published by Activision remains a mystery but if recent leaks are to be believed, the next release is expected to be Modern Warfare 3.
Usually, leaks appear from data miners who scan the files of multiplayer and Warzone but the latest revelation has come from an unlikely source during Microsoft’s court hearing with the USA’s Federal Trade Commission.
Modern Warfare 3's release month has appeared
On June 29, 2023, the Federal Judge overseeing Microsoft’s argument confirmed the next Call of Duty title will release in November.
The revelation corroborates other rumours reporting a November release date for Modern Warfare 3, which is reportedly being developed by Sledgehammer Games. Of course, it’s important to take leaks with a pinch of salt but shortly afterwards, the Call of Duty Twitter account responded with the eyes emoji.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 release date 2023
Considering a November release date for Modern Warfare 3 is all but confirmed, the latest rumours are pointing to the game releasing on November 10, 2023. As we enter the second half of the year, there’s a high possibility of teasers and more information on the game to appear in the not-too-distant future.
In the meantime, Microsoft is still attempting to persuade the FTC to approve its plan to purchase Activision before the July 18 deadline. Judging by the lengthy legal battle, we may see Modern Warfare 3 arriving before a deal is secured.
